Welcome to Busan, a beautiful harbor city of Korea!

Busan is the major metropolitan city with excellent international and national flight connections. The city’s natural endowments and rich history have resulted in Busan’s increasing reputation as a world-class harbor city for tourism and culture. The city has also established a reputation as one of the top 10 international convention destinations in the World - BEXCO (Busan Exhibition and Convention Center) boasts large-scale conference facilities with abundant accommodation, located within a short walk or easy ride by public transport.

Busan is the second largest city in Korea. Its deep harbor and gentle tides have allowed it to grow into the largest container handling port in the country and the fifth largest in the world. The city's natural endowments and rich history have resulted in Busan’s increasing reputation as a world-class city for tourism and culture, and it is also becoming renowned as a hot spot destination for international conventions.

Gwangandaegyo Bridge

Busan Gwangandaegyo Bridge (Busan 66, also called Gwangan-daero) stretches over 7.4km from Namcheon-dong (Suyeong-gu, Busan) to Centum City (U-dong, Haeundae-gu). It is the longest bi-level bridge over the ocean in Korea. In addition to providing a quick way to get around, the bridge offers breathtaking views of nearby attractions, including the endlessly unfolding ocean, Oryukdo Island, Hwangnyeongsan Mountain, Gwangalli Beach, Dongbaekseom Island, and Dalmaji Hill.

Four Seasons - Mild Climate of Busan

Busan is located at the southeastern most tip of the Korean peninsula in a mid-latitude temperate zone with seasonal winds. It has four seasons: spring, summer, fall and winter. Compared to regions in the north and farther inland, Busan has a mild climate and is consequently frequented by many tourists throughout the year, all of whom hope to take advantage of the city’s nice weather and beautiful scenery.

The unit of Korean currency is the Won(₩). Coin denominations are ₩10, ₩50, ₩100 and ₩500. Banknotes are ₩1,000, ₩5,000, ₩10,000 and ₩50,000. The exchange rate is approximately USD 1 to KRW 1,150 as of February 2020.


Value-Added Tax (VAT) is levied on most goods and services at a standard rate of 10% and is included in the retail price. In tourist hotels, this 10% tax applies to rooms, meals and other services and is included in the bill.
